Come one, come all.

At Rise Yoga, our mission is to create a sacred space where beings of all strengths and sizes, ages and orientations, beliefs and vocations can come together to explore and deepen their yoga practice. We are a heart-centered studio dedicated to fostering an inclusive community that nurtures the body, mind, and spirit through the transformative power of yoga.

Our studio is a sanctuary for self-discovery, healing, and personal growth. We believe in the power of love, compassion, and mindfulness to create positive change within ourselves and the world around us. Through a diverse offering of classes, workshops, and therapies, we invite you to connect with your unique inner knowing and the collective energy of our supportive community.

At Rise Yoga, we honor each person's unique journey and provide a supportive environment where all are welcome to express their authentic selves. Together, we strive to cultivate a deeper understanding of ourselves, each other, and the universal spirit that unites us all.

Story & Intention

Originally located in the Bel Air Shopping Center, Rise Yoga opened in 2007 under the direction of the creative and confident Ann DaPrato.  Always a risk-taker, Ann left the field of dentistry to follow her passion of yoga.  Truly a one-woman show at that time, she taught every single class on the schedule.

Ann created spaces that were calm, peaceful, and warm. She worked hard, but efficiently, and was able to manage the business aspects, the space, all the while inspiring her students with her sensible teachings, and with a commitment to the different lineages of yoga.

Rise grew steadily and Ann was soon able to add on a very talented crew of instructors, who brought their own gifts, including passions for many different styles of yoga and yoga philosophy.  Ann assured quality, professionalism, and a commitment to the teachings.

Ann’s partner, Alvin, who was a massage therapist at Rise, looked to expand his business, and that’s how Rise Wellness was born.  Ann and Alvin moved their joint business to the current Greenhaven Drive Location with a larger yoga room, and four therapy rooms.

Alvin passed away suddenly, and although Ann could juggle the responsibilities, she was called to Austin to be with her new grandchild.  She sold her business to fellow yoga therapy instructor Dave Ashby.  One month later Rise closed its doors due to the pandemic.  â€‹â€‹

Dave was solid and stealth during this time.  His background in tech helped us put our classes online, and with such a dedicated crew of students, Rise survived. The studio opened its doors once again when possible, and although we functioned with a smaller base of instructors and students, the community was stronger than ever before.

Dave brought consistency and ingenuity to the table when times were rough for everyone.  He held up the members who couldn’t hold themselves up by bringing yoga into their living rooms. He appeared calm and collected even though so much was going on in the world.  He kept us anchored, and we are so grateful for him.

Dave and his wife Eileen decided to move back to the East Coast to be with family, and that is when the current owners, Aimee Meyer and Lucy Fong, took over the reins.  Aimee and Lucy have been with Rise since the very beginning. Aimee brings her loving and accepting nature to the studio and Lucy bring her intuition for what people need and want.

We don’t know what the future brings, but we’re okay with that because we know that things are always in flux, and that Rise’s history is still writing itself.
