Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga is a slow-paced, meditative yoga practice that focuses on deep stretching and long-held postures.

In Yin, students are guided through a series of poses, each held for an extended period of about 3 to 5 minutes. This prolonged stretching allows the body to release deeply held tension and encourages the mind to become quiet and still.

Yin Yoga is a passive practice that requires minimal muscular engagement. Students are encouraged to relax into each pose, using gravity and their own body weight to facilitate the stretch. They are then guided to focus on their breath, using it as a tool to deepen the stretch and maintain presence in the moment. Various props such as bolsters, blocks, and blankets may be used to support the body in each pose, ensuring comfort and allowing for a deeper release. These props help make the practice accessible to individuals of all levels and abilities.

The class is conducted in a calm and quiet environment, often with soft music or silence, to encourage a meditative state. Yin Yoga complements more dynamic styles of yoga and physical activity by providing balance and promoting the body's natural healing processes. It is particularly beneficial for those seeking to counteract the effects of a busy, fast-paced lifestyle. Whether you are new to yoga or an experienced practitioner, this class will give you the opportunity to slow down, tune in, and experience the profound benefits of deep stretching and mindful relaxation.

Kundalini Yoga

Kundalini Yoga is a dynamic and transformative yoga practice that combines physical postures, breathwork, meditation and chanting to awaken your inner energy, known as "kundalini."

In a Kundalini Yoga class, participants will engage in a series of kriyas (specific sets of exercises), each designed to target different aspects of physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. Examples of this include a kriya that supports and balances the digestive system, a kriya that balances the heart chakra or a kriya for increasing mental clarity. The class is suitable for individuals of all levels, whether you are new to yoga or an experienced practitioner.

The class includes a variety of physical postures that range from gentle movements to more vigorous exercises. These postures help to increase strength, flexibility, and endurance. There is often an opportunity to practice different yogic breathing techniques like "breath of fire." These techniques help to enhance lung capacity, improve circulation, and balance the nervous system. The class may incorporate meditation practices or chanting and mantras. Each of these practices can help to elevate consciousness, open the heart, and create a sense of unity and peace.

A Kundalini yoga practice aims to awaken the kundalini energy located at the base of the spine and guide it through the chakras (energy centers) to achieve a higher state of consciousness and spiritual enlightenment. This class promotes physical healing, emotional balance, and spiritual growth and also aids in releasing blockages, reducing stress, and fostering a sense of inner peace and well-being. Whether you are seeking to boost your energy, deepen your spiritual practice, or simply enjoy a transformative yoga experience, this class provides the perfect opportunity to explore the profound benefits of Kundalini Yoga.

Yoga for Alignment

Yoga for Alignment is a class that focuses on achieving proper body alignment through a series of structured yoga poses chosen to help you develop a strong foundation, enhance your body awareness, and improve your overall well-being.

In Yoga for Alignment, you'll be guided through a series of poses that are part of the traditional Ashtanga yoga practice. Ashtanga Yoga is a dynamic and structured form of yoga that focuses on building strength, flexibility, and balance through a set sequence of poses. It offers a full-body workout while also promoting mental clarity and relaxation. You will be guided through a specific series of yoga poses, known as a sequence. This sequence is practiced in a flowing manner, with each pose linking to the next through synchronized breath and movement. This helps to create a continuous, energizing flow that enhances both physical and mental well-being.

Yoga for Alignment offers a supportive environment where you can refine your practice, build strength, and achieve optimal alignment. Whether you're new to yoga or looking to deepen your understanding, this class provides a valuable opportunity to enhance your overall well-being through precise and mindful alignment.
